Food For Thought ... Helpful Hints

 
 
Do you get enough fiber ? Recommendations for fiber are base on age  and gender . For example  , adult women (up to age 50) need about  25 to 30 grams of fiber per day . Here are some tips  to help you get fiber the healthy way :
 
 
Add some oatmeal . Oatmeal is a great way  to get some fiber  and whole grains  in your diet .
 
 
Look at your bread . Just because the label says wheat bread  , does not mean  it is whole wheat  , and it may not have much fiber . These days  there are so many choices  , it is important  to read the  nutrition facts  label carefully .
 
 
Say yes to salads . Start every meal with  a simple side salad  . Keep bagged varirties  on hand for quick snaks as well .
 
 
Add fiber  and water slowly . To lessen the adverse  effects  of increasing  fiber to your diet  , drink plenty of water .
