Sunday Chicken Supper slow cooker


Prep : 15 minutes  Cook : 5 hours    Makes 4 servings

4              small carrots  , cut into 2-inch pieces
1              medium onion , chopped
1              celery rib , cut into 2-inch pieces
2              cups gresh green beans  (2-inch pieces)
4              small potatoes , halved
4              none in chicken breast halves (7 ounces each) , skin removed
4              bacon strips  , cooked and crumbled
1-1/2        cup hot water
2              teaspoons chicken bouillon granules
1/2           teaspoon salt
1/2           teaspoon dried thyme
1/2           teaspoon dried basil
Pinch salt

In a 3-quart slow cooker  , layer  the first 7 ingredients  in the order listed  . Combine the water  , bouillon , salt , thyme , basil  and pepper  ; pour over the top  . (Do not stir) . Cover  and cook on low  for 6-to 8 hours  or until  vegetables  are tender  and meat thermometer  reads 170* . Remove chicken  and vegetables  . Thicken chicken juices  for gravy if desired .

This hearty supper  makes a special dish for any day of the week  . It serves four  , which is perfect for a small family .
