Holy Cannoli Cake
Prep : 10 minutes Total : 10 minutes Makes 12 servings
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon orange extract (optional)
1 package (4-serving size) jello Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
1/2 cup Polly-O Ricotta Cheese
1 Package (8 squares0 Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate , chopped , divided
1 package (10.75 ounces) pound cake , horizontally cut into 4 slices
1 cup thawed Cool Whip Whipped Topping
1) Pour milk and orange extract into large bowl , Add dry pudding mix . Beat with wire whisk until well blended . Stir in ricotta cheese . Gently stir in 1/2 of the chopped chocolate .
2) Spread 1/3 of the pudding mixture onto bottom slice of cake . Repeat layers twice , ending with the top layer slice .
3) Microwave remaining chocolate in small microwaveable bowl on HIGH 45 seconds to 1 minute or until almost melted ; stir until completely melted . Stir in whipped topping . Spread evenly over top and sides of cake .
Tip : If you don't have orange extract , you can use 2 tablespoons orange liqueur or orange juice instead to get that zippy citrus flavor .
You'll wow your family with this Italian-inspired dessert , which starts with a store bought cake .
