Maxy's Gone .... And his family is Broken Hearted

Our precious Maxy passed away on Friday. He died while my daughter and I held him at the animal hospital. He was a victim of someone's carelessness. They left out some poisoned bait meant for rodents , we assume, and Maxy ingested some. He had an agonizing death that has traumatized us all. And all we could do was stand helplessly by and watch him suffer.

Please, Please don't use poisons on or around your property for any reason at any time. It is a risk to so many innocent little lives and the dying process is horrible. Maxy bled internally and then his eyes and ears hemorrhaged and he vomited blood. We could not bear to watch him suffer any longer and asked the vet to euthanize him. She thinks it was Warfarin (rat poison) or possibly strychnine.

He was a wonderful little guy with lots of personality and a member of our family. He was beloved in our neighborhood and our friends and neighbors are upset and angry and have sworn to find the culprit. He will be so missed by so many, but he will always be in our hearts and will always be the 'Dog on the Blog'.

  2. Dearest Nee,
I feel so bad for your family. So sorry to hear about your sweet Maxy. Please know that my prayers are with you and the family. I know that Maxy is in heaven watching over you all and he knows that you all did the best you could to help him. I can understand how you must feel. My Angel Kitty had to be euthanized as well 6 years ago. I also held him while the vet gave him peace. You never will forget, your memories will be in your heart forever. It must be so hard for your children....I never use anything like those poisons. The first words I always say is it safe for pets, even though I have no pets anymore. Love and prayers dear friend, know we are here for you! RIP dear Maxy....Dottie <3

  3. Dearest Dottie ,
Thank you for your ever so kind words ,,, thank you for your prayers for me and my family , they are very appreciated . Maxy was a great little guy and I know he is watching over us . I understand how you also felt when you had Angel Kitty euthanized , I told the kids it wasn't being mean ... it was best because he was suffering so . Dottie , it scary , you just don't put posion out where there are lots of pets or kids . I don't think Maxy thought he was a dog , He thought he was a little human ;- D . The kids are sad but as we are telling them to refleck on the good memories .
Thank you my friend for your kind words and support it do mean a lot . ... ~~Nee~~

Sending warm hugs your way Nee...please share them with the kids and your family...

  10. Dear Nee, I am so sorry for your loss. I send my prayers to Maxy and to your family. Losing a pet is so heartbreaking...because it's like losing a member of the family. What a tragedy.

We never use any pesticides or poisons of any kind. We never believed it was healthy for animals and people to be around, or for the environment for that matter.

Sending hugs to you sweet friend.
